Kyrgyz Republic | Dr. Lata Suresh, Head of the Knowledge Resource Centre and Centre for Institutional Partnerships & Corporate Communications at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), delivered the keynote address at the Academic Libraries: Trends and Innovation (ALTI) 2025 International Conference at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), Bishkek. Held on June 12–13, the event hosted over 200 global delegates from academia, libraries, and technology sectors.
In her keynote, “Empowering Libraries through Transformational Leadership,” Dr. Suresh emphasized how library leaders must embrace AI, digital innovation, and inclusive strategies to build future-ready institutions. Drawing on India’s legacy of visionary leadership—from Lord Rama to Mahatma Gandhi—she offered a leadership model aligned with the digital age. Her references to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for responsible tech use deeply resonated with the audience.
A standout moment was her mention of India’s One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, which provides nationwide access to academic resources.
She also highlighted leading efforts such as DELNET, INFLIBNET, and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), showcasing India’s leadership in inclusive, multilingual, and digitally empowered library systems.
Dr. Suresh’s address was widely applauded for its clarity, depth, and global relevance. She also met with the Director of the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic and presented her authored books as a gesture of academic and cultural diplomacy—strengthening India–Kyrgyz ties in knowledge exchange and international cooperation.
