REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) has handed over a project-specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) of the HVDC Transmission Project under the TBCB route, viz., Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Ltd., to Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.
The SPV was handed over by Sh. T.S.C. Bosh, CEO, RECPDCL, to Sh. Sanjay Arvind Johari, Chief Business Development Officer, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., in the presence of senior officials of RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., and Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd.
Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL. This is the first HVDC transmission project, whereby the project is awarded to a private sector developer through the TBCB route. The scheme covers the establishment of 2 nos. of HVDC terminal stations of 6000 MW at Bhadla (Rajasthan) and Fatehpur (UP), ± 800 kV HVDC line (Hexa Lapwing) from Bhadla to Fatehpur (955 km) along with associated works. The estimated cost of the project is around ₹ 22,700 crore.
The implementation period of the project is 54 months.
