Darbhanga, Bihar – In a significant development for the energy sector in Bihar ahead of the foundation stone laying ceremony by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has announced the commencement of a state-of-the-art LPG Bottling Plant in Hathua, Gopalganj District, Shri D.K. Ojha, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOP&NG), held a media conference ahead of the foundation stone laying ceremony, which will be officiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The ambitious project, valued at ₹ 340.15 Crore, is expected to be completed by March 31, 2027. Once operational, the LPG Bottling Plant will boast an impressive capacity of 180 Thousand Metric Tons Per Annum (TMTPA), equipped with advanced infrastructure, including a railway unloading siding for efficient LPG receipt and storage, as well as Mounded Storage Vessels (MSV) to ensure safe storage practices.
This new facility is poised to address the growing demand for LPG in North-West Bihar and North Central Bihar. Furthermore, it is projected to create an estimated 1.2 lakh man-days of employment during the construction phase, significantly contributing to the local economy.
Shri S. Abbas Akhtar, Executive Director of PR & Brand at BPCL, along with other key officials from the company, attended the press conference, highlighting the project’s potential to enhance energy accessibility and job creation in the region.
