NEW DELHI: Dr. R.K. Tyagi, Director General, Power Foundation of India, addressed the Power Line Summit 2026 held on August 19, 2026, in New Delhi. Themed “Petrostate to Electrostate,” the summit focused on the expanding role of electricity in India’s energy future and the country’s transition towards greater electrification. Dr. Tyagi participated in the session “The Generation Mix We Will Need” alongside Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority, and other senior power-sector representatives. The panel discussed India’s future electricity demand and the optimal generation mix for 2032, 2047 and 2070, covering renewables, coal, gas, hydro, nuclear power and energy storage. The summit also deliberated on energy security, large-scale electrification, renewable energy financing, nuclear power, and grid resilience, bringing together key stakeholders to examine the opportunities and challenges shaping India’s future power system.
