PFC Sets Up Five New Companies for Major Renewable Energy Projects

PFC renewable energy SPVs transmission projects India

NEW DELHI. Power Finance Corporation has established five Special Purpose Vehicles to manage large-scale interstate power transmission projects across Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. These companies were formed through its subsidiary, PFC Consulting Limited, to help integrate and evacuate electricity from various renewable energy zones. The projects will be developed under the government’s competitive bidding framework, ensuring that private developers are selected through a transparent process to build the necessary infrastructure.

The new entities, including Jam Khambhalia and Ananthpuram Transmission Limited, are designed to handle thousands of megawatts of green energy from solar and wind hubs. By creating these dedicated units, the government aims to strengthen the national grid and support India’s transition to clean power. These projects will focus on building high-capacity transmission systems that connect remote renewable energy sites to the rest of the country, ensuring a stable and efficient power supply.
