SAMBALPUR. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Sundargarh District Administration to fund five major developmental projects worth ₹22.64 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The MoUs were signed by MCL’s General Manager (CSR) and the District Collector of Sundargarh to ensure efficient execution by local authorities.
The funded initiatives focus on environmental restoration and local livelihoods, including the rejuvenation and beautification of three major water bodies—Kata Bandha, Brahamani Bandha, and Abdul Hussain Bandha—along with tank renovations in the Talsara Assembly Constituency and freshwater aquaculture projects in the Hemgir Block. Aligned with the national “Amrit Sarovar” mission, these projects aim to boost groundwater replenishment, promote water conservation, support small-scale tourism, and generate economic activity in mining-affected areas.
