NEW DELHI. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) have entered into a landmark five-year partnership aimed at bolstering the cybersecurity and digital forensic capabilities of the nation’s Aadhaar infrastructure. Formalized in the presence of UIDAI CEO Vivek Chandra Verma and NFSU Director Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, this collaboration establishes an umbrella framework to enhance the resilience of India’s digital public infrastructure. By combining the expertise of these two premier national institutions, the pact seeks to safeguard the digital identity ecosystem against evolving cyber threats while ensuring the long-term integrity of one of the world’s largest biometric databases.
The partnership is built upon six strategic pillars, ranging from academic development and advanced research to the creation of world-class forensic laboratories and technical advisory systems. Beyond infrastructure security, the agreement emphasizes human capital by providing a dedicated pathway for NFSU students through strategic placements and outreach opportunities. CEO Vivek Chandra Verma highlighted that this initiative marks a crucial step in further strengthening the forensic and defensive layers of the country’s digital framework, ensuring that India remains at the forefront of secure, technology-driven governance.
