REC Limited today inaugurated Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, a two-week cleanliness and awareness campaign across its offices nationwide, aligning with the Government of India’s mission to promote hygiene, sustainability, and public health. The event commenced with a Swachhata Pledge led by CMD Jitendra Srivastava, emphasising India’s progress from open defecation to improved sanitation and inspiring employees to uphold environmental values. The inaugural session featured an impactful awareness talk by Ramveer Tanwar, the Pondman of India, on the link between cleanliness, water conservation, and health, along with a motivational address by Sarpanch Jasmer Singh Chauhan, highlighting community leadership in maintaining cleanliness standards.
A key highlight was the unveiling of a “Waste to Art” CHARKHA, crafted from 200 kg of recycled waste, symbolising sustainability and self-reliance. The campaign also included a tree plantation drive within the campus, a health camp for housekeeping staff, and a facilitation session on government welfare schemes in collaboration with banks. Additionally, regional offices initiated efforts to restore Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs), reinforcing decentralized sanitation initiatives. Through these activities, REC reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation, community engagement, and employee wellbeing.
