JAMIA VIOLENCE WAS PREPLANNED :DEHLI POLICE

Delhi Police have said violence in Jamia was pre-planned. In its initial report, police have claimed that protesters were armed with petrol bombs. , Home Ministry officials said no bullet was fired by police during violent protests against the amended Citizenship Act at Jamia Milia Islamia University .There have been allegations that police fired bullets on protesters during the agitation at Jamia.

The officials also said that 10 persons with criminal background have been detained in connection with the protests and more anti-social elements are being tracked. Sources said that the accused were identified through videos taken during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protest .Police are interrogating them and also identifying other accused who were involved in instigating the violence, they said.
Meanwhile CJI Bobde dismisses Indira Jaisingh’s plea on police ‘excesses’ against students and said Go to appropriate court’.

Senior counsel Indira Jaising begins her submissions, bringing the Court’s attention to the relief sought in the petition filed by Vaibhav Mishra and others. “FIRs are being filed against students across the country. My request is only this that let the law take its own course, but please pass an order,” she urged the Bench.
She argued that if peace is to be maintained, FIRs cannot be filed innocent students. She said that relief is granted through peace measures, to which CJI Bobde says, “If a police officer sees that some stones are being pelted, should an FIR not be filed?”

Jaising reiterated her plea of no coercive action being taken against students.

“No bullet was fired by the Delhi Police during protests at Jamia. All 10 persons detained have criminal background. More anti-social elements are being tracked,” the officials said, citing a Delhi Police report.
Meanwhile Chief Justice of India is reportedly unhappy with a number of petitions being filed over protests across the country. He has asked petitioners to approach High Court first. SC says, it’s not a trial court& can’t assume jurisdiction for whatever is happening all over the country, after an advocate mentions before it that in the name of Citizenship (Amendment) Act, public properties including trains and fire tenders have been destroyed in West Bengal. Although SC agrees to consider plea seeking CBI or court-monitored SIT probe into violence against Citizenship Amendment Act.

Several vehicles, including buses, were burnt down and public properties destroyed during the protests .
