NEW DELHI. The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in association with India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), is organizing a special celebration of the International Day of Yoga for Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) at SCOPE Complex, New Delhi on June 21-2026. The initiative aims to promote holistic well-being, health, and productivity among employees across the public sector. Highlighting the significance of the event, SCOPE Director General Shri Atul Sobti, in an article published in the Financial Express, emphasized that people are the nation’s greatest asset and underscored the need to keep the workforce healthy, agile, and resilient as India’s demographics evolve.
Describing Yoga as a 5,000-year-old science of human engineering, Shri Sobti said it is much more than a fitness routine and serves as a low-cost “macroeconomic vaccine” that safeguards the country’s cognitive capital while strengthening its emerging “Silver Dividend.” He noted that maintaining physical and mental well-being helps preserve the institutional knowledge and leadership essential for national progress. Calling Public Sector Enterprises the backbone of India’s development, he said the joint SCOPE-ITDC initiative, being organized for the second consecutive year, reflects a commitment to enhancing the long-term health span, productivity, and well-being of the entire PSE community while contributing to the vision of a healthier, more vibrant, and self-reliant India.
