NEW DELHI. Ashok Sehgal, CEO of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) and Executive Director of NTPC India, has been honoured with the Award for Excellence in Cross Organizational Engagement under the prestigious DAKSH Leadership programme. The national initiative brought together 73 senior leaders from over 20 major PSUs across India. As part of the curriculum, Sehgal collaborated with dynamic leaders from GAIL, ONGC, SAIL, and OIL on a cross-PSU Live Action Learning Project titled “Strengthening Safety Monitoring Systems in Plants,” which successfully secured the Second Runner-Up position. The transformative program was conceptualized and delivered by SCOPE, the Capacity Building Commission, IIM Ahmedabad, and McKinsey & Company.
The award-winning project demonstrated the strong potential of AI-based tools and digital technologies in transforming traditional safety frameworks into proactive, predictive, and intelligent monitoring systems. These practical, scalable, and industry-relevant solutions serve as a key enabler in achieving the ultimate vision of Zero Harm in industries. Expressing deep gratitude to the entire PVUNL team and his project collaborators, Sehgal emphasized his commitment to accelerating the modernization of industrial safety practices, helping build a future-ready Indian industry aligned with the national aspiration of becoming Viksit Bharat @2047.
