GAIL India is planning to build a 600 MW solar power project in Uttar Pradesh, which will include a 550 MWh battery storage system to improve power reliability and efficiency. The project aims to expand GAIL’s renewable energy capacity and support India’s clean energy goals, with completion expected within 15 months through a mix of debt and equity funding.
Currently, GAIL’s solar capacity is around 29 MW, operating at full capacity. The new project represents a major increase in its renewable energy efforts as part of its overall growth strategy.
