NEW DELHI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to significantly expand the national capital’s transit network this Sunday by inaugurating two new metro corridors and laying the foundation for three more under Phase-V (A). The projects, valued at over 18,300 crore rupees, include the opening of the Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur section, which completes India’s first fully operational Ring Metro, and the Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park stretch of the Magenta Line. Additionally, the Prime Minister will initiate work on the Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha Central Vista corridor and two critical extensions of the Golden Line. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that these expansions will not only ease congestion and reduce pollution but also drastically improve connectivity for NCR residents traveling from Noida and Faridabad to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
