NSIC Marks 71 Years of Service to the MSME Sector

NSIC 71st Foundation Day MSME sector

NEW DELHI. The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) celebrated its 71st Foundation Day on February 4, 2026, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, who congratulated NSIC on its milestone journey and lauded its role in strengthening India’s MSME sector. He emphasized the need to create wider awareness about NSIC’s schemes among entrepreneurs and called for enhanced handholding support in areas such as capacity building, innovation and digital adoption. The celebrations also featured a Foundation Day Lecture by Prof. S. Mahendra Dev, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, who highlighted the prevailing macro-economic scenario and key policy initiatives to strengthen the MSME ecosystem.

On the occasion, Dr. S.S. Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director of NSIC, reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and its continued role in enhancing the growth, competitiveness and resilience of MSMEs. He said the Foundation Day was both a tribute to NSIC’s legacy and a reaffirmation of its resolve to build a stronger and more self-reliant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The event was attended by MSME Secretary Shri S.C.L. Das, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner Dr. Rajneesh, Joint Secretary Ms. Mercy Epao, along with NSIC Directors, senior government officials, representatives of NITI Aayog, industry associations and MSME entrepreneurs.
