DMRC Conducts Special Anti-Pollution Drives Across Construction Sites

NEW DELHI – In continued efforts to combat rising pollution levels in Delhi and surrounding areas, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is conducting special anti-pollution drives at its construction sites and nearby locations across the national capital. The drives focus on reducing dust levels within construction zones, removing road dust, clearing garbage from footpaths and medians, and ensuring better upkeep of surrounding infrastructure. As part of this initiative, a drive was conducted between Azadpur and Ashok Vihar, covering cleanliness activities, restoration and beautification of footpaths and medians, and repair of adjoining roads. DMRC engineers also inspected construction sites to ensure proper covering of materials and functioning of wheel-wash facilities. Currently, about 19 km of city roads under DMRC’s temporary jurisdiction have been repaired to prevent pollution. Over 100 anti-smog guns have been installed at sites, stations and offices, with daily environmental inspections underway to ensure strict compliance with prescribed norms, in line with directives of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
