Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that India achieved defence production worth ₹1.51 lakh crore in FY 2024–25, with Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) contributing an impressive 71.6% of the total. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Defence PSU Bhavan at the World Trade Centre, New Delhi, Singh lauded the DPSUs for their role in advancing the nation’s defence ecosystem and promoting the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The new facility, equipped with AR/VR-based simulation rooms and advanced collaborative spaces, is designed to foster innovation and synergy among all 16 DPSUs. The Minister also highlighted key achievements, including defence exports worth ₹6,695 crore and the 100% green energy transition by India Optel Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited. During the event, several DPSUs were felicitated for attaining Miniratna Category-I status, and new initiatives such as HAL’s R&D Manual and the SWAYAM green manufacturing report were launched to further boost indigenous capabilities.
