With an aim to propagate the message of safety and spread awareness, the employees and contract workers of Coal Chemical Department (CCD) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) formed a long human chain on 4th December, 2024 to mark the observance of National Chemical Disaster Prevention Day. The initiative focused on highlighting the critical importance of chemical safety and disaster preparedness within the workplace.
The human chain spanned from Coke Oven Chowk to CO-CCD Gas holder. The participants carried placards with messages highlighting safe handling of chemicals, adherence to safety protocols, and the importance of timely response mechanisms during emergencies.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. M K Panigrahi, AGM (Operation) & DSO, CCD and Mr. R N Panigrahy, Deputy Manager, CCD (Operation).
