South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) unveiled an India Post Special Cover and Special Cancellation Cachet to celebrate Coal India Limited’s Golden Jubilee and SECL’s Ruby Jubilee. The release, held under the Government of India’s Special Campaign 5.0, was graced by senior officials from Coal India, SECL, and India Post. The commemorative cover, issued in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Postal Circle, serves as a philatelic tribute to five decades of Coal India’s contribution to the nation’s energy sector and four decades of SECL’s operational excellence and innovation.
Since its inception in 1975, Coal India has remained India’s primary coal supplier, recently achieving record production that contributed to the nation’s landmark 1 billion tonnes of coal output in FY 2024–25. SECL, a key subsidiary operating in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, plays a vital role in this success, with its Gevra Mine being the largest in Asia. Beyond production, SECL emphasizes sustainability, environmental conservation, and community welfare, reinforcing its commitment to responsible nation-building and long-term growth.
