Bengaluru: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has declared its 400/220 kV Bidadi Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) as a Pink Substation, reaffirming its commitment to promoting gender diversity and women empowerment in the power sector. This marks POWERGRID’s second Pink Substation under its Southern Region-II operations. Pink Substations are uniquely managed and operated entirely by women professionals, reflecting the organisation’s progressive approach to inclusive leadership. The Bidadi GIS is headed by Ms. Reeni Rafi Alapatt, Deputy General Manager, POWERGRID. The substation was inaugurated by Shri Mukund Sharad Hejib, Chief General Manager (I/C), Southern Region-II, in the presence of senior officials. POWERGRID has consistently been recognised among the Best Places for Women to Work, and initiatives like the Pink Substation exemplify its ongoing efforts to create equitable opportunities and celebrate women’s contributions in technical and operational roles.
