Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) was honored by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Raipur Branch for being the oldest licensee under the BIS Certification Scheme. The award was presented during the World Standards Day 2025 celebrations in Raipur, themed Shared Vision for a Better World – Standards for Sustainable Development Goals. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai felicitated BSP representatives, with Rahul Srivastava receiving the award on behalf of the plant. BSP holds ten BIS licenses for products like plates, TMT bars, and structural steels, and has been associated with BIS since 1963. The plant’s active role in technical committees and adherence to standards has contributed significantly to India’s steel industry and national development. The event highlighted the importance of standards in ensuring quality and sustainable growth.
