School Bags and study materials distributed to students of Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan

In a function organised at Deepika Ispat Sikhya Sadan, the free school of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 26th June 2025, school bags including study material like books, note books, pencil, eraser were presented to the students of Class-I. It is worth mentioning here that Deepika Mahila Sanghati (DMS) a leading philanthropic organisation of the Steel City is managing the school.

Mrs. Namrata Verma, President (DMS) presided over the function and launched the bag distribution programme for the current academic session. Present on the occasion were Mrs. Pravati MisraMrs. Pragyan PalaiMrs. Vandana SinghMrs. Rita Raniand Mrs. Nabanita Pal Chowdhurythe Vice-Presidents of DMS. The function was attended by Mr. T. G. KanekarCGM (TA & CSR), Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. T. B. Toppo, AGM (CSR), Ms. Sarika Kumar, Secretary (DMS), Governing Body Members of DMS along with Ms. S. Samal, Headmistress, Mr. S. K. Mishra, School Administrator, Ms. Niharika Bhal, Assistant Headmistress and other teachers and staff of the School.

The dignitaries present also distributed School Bags to the newly admitted students of Class – I.  Rest of the students will get the bags in a phased manner. Notably, this year 75 students have taken admission in Class – I.

Presently around 900 students are enrolled in Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan studying in classes 1 to 10. Every year the students get the entire set of study material, accessories and uniforms including shoes and school bags for free. Nutritious mid-day meal is also being provided to them through the Akshaya Patra project of RSP.
