CHANDIGARH The Tricity Metro is about to be constructed in the capital cities of Punjab and Haryana. Tricity has been permitted to proceed almost 14 years after it was first proposed. Furthermore, the metro construction projects would start in three cities in stages. In the first phase, a 14.5-kilometre metro line will be built in Chandigarh.
Phase 1 would feature 25.5 km and 3.5 km long tracks in Mohali and Panchkula, respectively. Panchkula will get a 4.5 km expansion in the following phase, and Chandigarh will get a 5.5 km expansion.
