SHIVSENA leader Sanjay Raut announced , “Ajit Pawar has resigned and he is with us. Uddhav Thackeray will be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for five years.”
Sanjay Raut reiterates that the Chief Ministerial post will be given to Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray will be the CM for five years. “With the support of NCP and Congress, he will be a full time CM, not a rotational one.”
Earlier In a dramatic turn of events, Ajit Pawar resigns as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra just three days after he was sworn-in in a drastic move. On Saturday morning, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in as the Maharashtra Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as his deputy after the latter led a faction of NCP to unite with the BJP and form the government in the state.
Uddhav Thackeray to Lead Maharashtra Progressive Front, Says Sharad Pawar Meanwhile, , NCP chief Sharad Pawar says all party leaders meeting that Uddhav Thackeray will be the leader of the Maharashtra Progressive Front (Mahavikas Aghadi). “This is my order,” says Sharad Pawar.
Maharashtra Congress President Balasaheb Thorat has been elected as their legislative party leader. Thorat is the senior most MLA and trusted aid of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He is also close to Rahul Gandhi.
