“Spardha – 2025’, the annual Sports Event commenced at Trainees Hostel of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 2nd February. Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) presided over the inaugural function. Present on the occasion were Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (MS & HR-L&D), Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (Town Engineering & Horticulture). More than 100 trainees including ACT (T), OCT (T) and the MT (T) of RSP and Odisha Group of Mines coming under the purview of Learning and Development Department have been taking part in different events.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Chowdhury commended the efforts of L&D Department in organising such event. He said that such initiatives will help strengthen the bonds between the trainees and further strengthen the work culture of the organisation. He encouraged all to give the best with a healthy sporting spirit.
The different events being conducted are Cricket, Badminton- Singles and Doubles for both Men and Women, Chess, 100 metre Run and Shot Put. To support the competitions, a dedicated field has been developed for outdoor events like Cricket, Running, and Shot Put.
The event is being coordinated by Mr. Himanshu Mishra, Senior Manager (HR-L&D).
