Vasanta Panchami was celebrated with joy and religious fervour in different educational institutes of the Steel City in which a large number of students, teachers and parents participated enthusiastically and paid obeisance to Goddess SAraswati.
Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, Rourkela Steel Plant visited the Puja celebrations and offered pushpanjali to the Goddess at Deepika Ispat Siksha Sadan, Sector-18. He was accompanied by Mrs Namrata Verma, President, Deepika Mahila Sanghati, Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A), Mr. Sudip PalChowdhury, ED (Projects), Dr. J K Acharya, CMO In-Charge (M&HS), Mrs Prabhati Misra, and Mrs. Nabanita Pal Chowdhury, both Vice Presidents of DMS visited the Puja celebrations and offered pushpanjali to the Goddess at Deepika Ispat Siksha Sadan, Sector-18.
Later the DIC along with the Senior Officers offered Puja at Ispat Vidya Mandir, Sector-19, Ispat English Medium School, Sector – 20, and Ispat English Medium School, Sector – 22.
It is noteworthy that Goddess Saraswati is considered as the Devi of wisdom, art, music and all other forms of creativity. On this day the students also worship the books, copies and pens while musicians worship their instruments and the painters worship their paint-brushes and colours.
