SJVN commemorated World Environment Day 2025 across its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla and all project sites, with Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), leading the observance by administering an Environmental Conservation pledge to all employees, reaffirming the company’s dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
In his address, Sharma emphasized SJVN’s ongoing efforts to nurture nature and safeguard the environment, urging individuals and the organization to continue contributing to environmental protection for a sustainable future. The celebrations featured various employee competitions, including quizzes, origami contests, and a ‘Best-out-of-Plastic Waste’ challenge, with winners recognized by Sharma and senior officials such as Sh. Chander Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR). To promote green living, saplings were distributed to dignitaries as symbols of environmental stewardship. Aligning with the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution” and the global slogan “Together we can #BeatPlasticPollution,” SJVN also conducted an e-waste collection drive, successfully gathering around 30 kilograms of electronic waste for responsible disposal, underscoring its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
