POWERGRID to build 200-bed Vishram Sadan at BHU’s hospital

PGCIL to build rest house at BHU’s hospital, to be ready by March 2026. Varanasi: The Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) will construct a 200-bed Vishram Sadan (rest house) on the premises of Sir Sunderlal Hospital of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

 

 

POWERGRID  will provide Rs. 17.88 crore under CSR for building the Vishram Sadan, which will benefit the family members of the patients coming to BHU for treatment. BHU hospital caters to the medical needs of a vast geographical area of this part of the country and patients from various states visit the health facilities at the university. The facility is expected to be completed by March 2026 for which BHU and PGCIL both have reiterated their commitment. Arun Kumar Rai, Senior General Manager, and In-charge, Varanasi, signed the understanding from Power Grid Corporation, while Registrar Prof. Arun Kumar Singh inked the document on behalf of the university. The Vishram Sadan will be constructed by the Central Public Works Department. The MoU was signed in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain and Director (Personnel), PGCIL, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi.
