In a significant move to bolster education and youth empowerment, NTPC Bongaigaon has expanded its commitment to the Arohan Scheme, a key initiative by the Government of Assam. In collaboration with the District Administration of Kokrajhar and the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC introduced a mentorship program aimed at supporting academically gifted students. The initiative recently saw the distribution of educational kits to top-performing Class IX students from 96 government schools in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). During the distribution event, Shri Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director (ER-II), highlighted the vital role of hard work and perseverance in achieving success.
Empowering the Next Generation
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, and Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, who imparted their blessings to the meritorious students. Smt. Rupali Sinha, President of the Vasudha Mahila Mandal, emphasized the transformative power of education, especially for young girls, and the importance of initiatives like the Arohan Scheme in bridging educational gaps. Looking ahead, NTPC Bongaigaon plans to assign mentors from diverse fields, including engineering, management, and medicine, to offer career guidance and support for the students’ future aspirations, thus aligning with the vision of nurturing bright minds for a better tomorrow.
