– Dance troupe of Rekha Dance Group, Teterkela emerges Champion
Thirty dance troupes from different villages of Nuagaon Block enthusiastically participated in the zonal level competition of Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav, organised by the CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Jamberna village, Teterkela on 14th October, 2026.
Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (Materials Management), RSP graced the concluding function as the Chief Guest while Mrs. Bandana Singh, Vice President, (DMS) was the guest of honor of the function. Mr. Bivabasu Malik, GM (CSR), Mr. R S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. P Sahoo, DGM (CSR), and Ms. Sukhmani Oram, Sarpanch, Teterkela, other Officials of CSR, SHG Group members and village elders were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kumar congratulated the winners as well as the participants of the event and lauded the efforts of CSR department of RSP in promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Mr. Kumar presented prizes to the winners. The other dignitaries presented the consolation prizes to the participating teams.
Rekha Dance Group of Teterkela emerged as Champion of the Nuagaon Block dance festival and won cash award of Rs. 10,000/- and the Champion trophy.
Milan Group of Bandrai village, bagged the second prize that consisted of a cash award of Rs. 8,000/- and a trophy. The third prize carrying a cash prize of Rs. 6,000/- and a trophy was won by Monica dance troupe of Kharuatoli village. The judges were also felicitated on the occasion.
Consolation prizes of Rs. 2,500/- were also given to each of the remaining participating troupes.
The event was organised by the CSR Department of RSP with the support of Jai Sarna Self Help Group. Mr. B Malik welcomed the gathering while Mr. R S Bara proposed a formal vote of thanks. The event was facilitated by the CSR team of RSP. A large number of villagers from neighbouring areas enjoyed the dance extravaganza.
