NEW DELHI. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has become the first metro organisation in India to receive ISO 55001:2024 certification for its Asset Management System for Mumbai Metro Line-3. The certification marks a major step in DMRC’s transition from conventional maintenance practices to a strategic, risk-based and lifecycle-oriented approach focused on asset performance, operational risk, cost and long-term value.
DMRC achieved the certification in record time by strengthening its Strategic Asset Management Plan, risk assessment and lifecycle controls, along with extensive staff training and capacity building. As the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agency for the 33.5-km Mumbai Metro Line-3 corridor, DMRC manages critical assets including rolling stock, signalling, traction, stations, track and civil infrastructure. The certification is expected to set a new benchmark for scientific and globally aligned asset management practices in India’s expanding urban rail sector.
