NAGPUR. In a remarkable feat for the nation, tenth-grade student Nabhya Bhardwaj has won the Third Prize in the Junior category at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition 2026. Outperforming more than 9,100 participants worldwide, he emerged as the sole Indian student to secure an international award at this year’s global event. Nabhya, the son of Shailendra Bhardwaj, Deputy General Manager at NTPC Mouda, successfully cleared three demanding rounds to achieve the elite Gold Honour distinction. His exceptional analytical skills and deep knowledge of cosmology and astrophysics placed him alongside top-performing peers from countries such as the United States, Italy, and Denmark, bringing immense pride to his family, his school at Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, and the entire NTPC community.
Beyond his scientific triumphs, Nabhya has also demonstrated extraordinary talent in the literary field by earning a spot in the prestigious PM-YUVA 3.0 Mentorship Scheme. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education and executed by the National Book Trust, this central initiative selects and nurtures the country’s brightest young minds to promote literary excellence. Being named one of India’s youngest authors under this national program highlights his diverse intellectual capabilities. Nabhya’s dual achievements in both advanced STEM education and creative literature establish him as an inspiring role model for aspiring students across India, showcasing the immense potential of the next generation of youth.
