NEW DELHI. The government’s flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative has transformed into a nationwide movement, driving key gender indicator improvements over the past decade. National Sex Ratio at Birth rose from 918 in 2014-15 to 929 in 2024-25 due to sustained anti-discrimination efforts. Concurrently, secondary school girls’ enrollment increased from 75.51 per cent to 80.2 per cent, reflecting enhanced retention. The scheme continues focusing on community engagement to empower girls.
