Government Monitors West Asia Situation to Ensure Safe Air Travel

India West Asia air travel safety monitoring

NEW DELHI. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring developments in West Asia to ensure the safety and continuity of air travel between India and the region. Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and the DGCA are coordinating with airlines to provide operational flexibility, including the use of Muscat International Airport as an en-route alternate and the allocation of additional flight slots. Recent data shows that 45 inbound flights successfully transported over 7,400 passengers on Monday alone. To further maintain connectivity, Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo are scheduled to commence services to Riyadh starting March 12, while Akasa Air and SpiceJet have been facilitated with alternate safety arrangements to ensure stable operations amidst the evolving situation.
