Airbus has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for aerospace studies at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, India, marking a significant step towards strengthening the country’s aerospace ecosystem. The CoE will primarily focus on research and development in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and will serve as a hub for fostering student-led innovations. Jürgen Westermeier from Airbus emphasized that the CoE demonstrates their dedication to pioneering R&D efforts in groundbreaking aerospace technologies.
GSV’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manoj Choudhary, highlighted the vital role of industry partnerships in building skilled human capital and advancing aerospace innovation. The collaboration includes initiatives such as scholarships for underprivileged students and the appointment of a Chair Professor for Aerospace Studies at GSV, aimed at promoting academic excellence and sustainable aviation solutions in India. This partnership signifies a major step towards positioning India as a key player in the global aerospace industry.
