-20 beneficiaries from Direct Impact Zones imparted digital marketing skills
The CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organised a 3-Day ‘Awareness Workshop and interactive session on Sustainable Business and E-Marketing’ from 21st to 23rd May, 2025 at the Institute of Peripheral Development (IPD). The event focused on empowering rural entrepreneurs from the Direct Impact Zones of RSP through practical digital marketing training and sustainable business practices. A total of 20 beneficiaries, including SHGs, individual entrepreneurs, and small rural business owners, participated in the program.
Mr. T G Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR) was the Chief Guest in the valedictory session of the workshop. Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), the resource persons of the programme namely Mr Udit Oram, Founder- Director, Fulkerya Design Pvt Ltd., Mr P Mahapatra-Training Executive (NSIC, Regional Industrial Centre & MSME) and Mr Gokul Minz- CEO & Director, Prakriti Gau Anusandhan Kendra Pvt Ltd. were present on the occasion.
Lauding the unique CSR initiative, Mr. Kanekar said that empowering rural entrepreneurs with digital and sustainable business knowledge is a significant step toward inclusive development. He emphasized that this initiative by RSP-CSR will greatly contribute to promoting self-reliance and economic resilience in the surrounding communities.
At the outset, Ms. Munmun Mittra in her welcome address outlined the objectives and key components of the initiative.
The workshop aimed to equip the beneficiaries with essential digital tools and e-marketing strategies to expand their businesses, enhance market reach, and improve income-generating capabilities. It focused on empowering rural entrepreneurs through comprehensive training in sustainable business practices and e-marketing. It aimed to equip participants with digital marketing skills, knowledge of current business models, and practical tools to expand their market reach, increase income, and maintain sustainable online marketing using available resources.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Manager (CSR) and CSR team comprising CSR Team-Mr B. Ekka, Mr G. Nayak, Md. Zahid Akhtar & Ms. Geetarani Sahoo.
