REC Limited Supports Rural Healthcare in Uttarakhand through CSR Initiative

REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has committed Rs. 6.01 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to fund the procurement and operation of five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in Uttarakhand. The initiative was inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami in the presence of senior officials from the state government, REC, and CSC Academy. These MMUs, operating in the districts of Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Tehri Garhwal, are equipped with essential diagnostic and treatment facilities to provide free primary healthcare services to remote and underserved communities, running six days a week. Notably, one of the units is dedicated exclusively to women’s healthcare, staffed entirely by female medical professionals to address the specific health needs of women in conservative and hard-to-reach areas.

This project is aligned with the government’s vision of “Swasth Uttarakhand, Samriddh Uttarakhand” and aims to strengthen last-mile healthcare delivery by working in close coordination with the Uttarakhand State Health Department and Chief Medical Officers. It is part of REC Foundation’s broader ‘Doctor Aapke Dwaar’ initiative, which already operates Mobile Health Clinics in other states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab. Through this sustainable and impactful social responsibility effort, REC Limited continues its commitment to bridging rural healthcare gaps and empowering communities by ensuring accessible, quality healthcare services for marginalized populations in Uttarakhand.
