As part of the observance of Fire Services Week, the Fire Services Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organized a vibrant Volleyball Tournament at the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium. The event aimed to foster camaraderie, fitness, and team spirit among the fire service personnel.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Ms. Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services), who presided over the opening ceremony and declared the tournament open. Also present on the occasion were Mr. J. B. Pattanayak, GM (Fire Services), along with other officers and employees of the department.
A total of seven teams, comprising team managers, coaches, and players, enthusiastically participated in the competition. After a spirited series of matches, the Prevention Section team emerged victorious, defeating the CCD Fire Station team with a straight-set win of 2-0 in the final.
The event was coordinated by Mr. S. Goswami, Deputy Manager (Fire Services) and Mr. D. D. Jena, Senior Leading Fire Operator.
