In another initiative to promote inclusivity and employment opportunities for differently abled individuals, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, funded Rs. 5 Lakhs for the “Specially Abled Candidates Skill Development Training” program. The training, conducted by Centurion University, Bhubaneswar, aimed at equipping 10 specially abled candidates—with hearing and speech impairments—from the peripheral areas of RSP with essential skills in the garment assembly and manufacturing industry.
The six-month skill development program was designed to empower participants with industry-specific technical knowledge, preparing them for employment and self-reliance. Through hands-on training and exposure to 35 industrial machines, six specialized garment departments, knitting, spinning, embroidery, and garment finishing techniques, the beneficiaries gained valuable expertise to enhance their employability.
Notably, all the 10 trainees have been placed at Aussie Face to Fashion Garment Export Company, ensuring them a sustainable and secure future.
It is worth mentioning here that RSP is committed to social development, and such initiatives enhance the self-reliance and dignity of specially abled individuals while contributing to economic growth.
