The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has registered a new benchmark by achieving best monthly production record in October, 2024. The Mill rolled 2, 39,316 tons of slab weight surpassing the previous best of 2,37,604 tons achieved in June, 2024. It has also produced highest Coil Weight in a month since inception, i.e., 2,32,556 tons surpassing previous best June 2024 figure of 2,30,838 tons.
This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the HSM-2 team, supported by Production Planning & Control, Energy Management, Refractory, Traffic & Raw Materials, Computer & Information Technology, Research & Control Lab, Shops, the Roll Shop, and other key departments under the guidance of the top management of RSP.
