PM Modi Urges More Public Nominations For Padma Awards As Deadline Nears

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to nominate remarkable individuals for the prestigious Padma Awards, with the deadline for nominations approaching on September 15, 2024. The initiative, known as “People’s Padma”, aims to foster greater transparency and inclusivity in the selection process. The Prime Minister has encouraged citizens to submit nominations before the deadline, stating that the awards recognize exceptional achievements across various fields. Online nominations for the Padma Awards 2025 began on May 1, 2024, and can be submitted through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. The Padma Awards are among India’s highest civilian honors, instituted in 1954, and are open to all individuals, except government servants (except for doctors and scientists).
