Zomato has teamed up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to allow passengers to order food during their train journeys through its app. The new service, called ‘Zomato – Food Delivery in Trains’, is currently available in 88 cities. Since the collaboration began, Zomato has successfully delivered 10 lakh orders across 100 stations.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with IRCTC, allowing us to provide culinary delights to train passengers, making their journeys a memorable experience.
We are confident that this partnership will impact millions of customers across India, making train travel more convenient and enjoyable,” said Rakesh Ranjan, CEO of Food Delivery at Zomato.
To use the service, passengers can select the “train” option on the Zomato app to place their orders. Alternatively, customers at the station can enter their PNR after updating their location on the app, which will automatically fetch their seat and train details, ensuring that the order is delivered directly to their seat when the train arrives at the station.
