In a bid to erase the sanskari portrayal of women in the local train’s ladies coach, the Western railways are now taken made an effort to transform the logo to the ‘new age’ working.
The woman in the new logo wears office formals in comparison to the old one which showed a woman wearing a ghunghat and bindi.
According to a Midday report, the railway officials are going to put up posters of inspiring women like astronaut Kalpana Chawla, cricketer Maithili Raj and Badminton player Saina Nehwal inside the coaches.
12 coaches have been revamped with the new logo while another two are expected to roll out in a few weeks, states the report.
