The Review Planning & Monitoring (RPM) meeting with States and State Power Utilities was held on 23rd & 24th January 2023 at New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh, in the presence of Shri Krishan Pal, Minister of State for Power and Secretary (Power). Singh commended the reduction of AT&C losses by 5% in FY 2021-22 due to the efforts of all stakeholders. He also recognized the efforts made by States to achieve more than 3% reduction in losses from FY 2020-21 to FY 2021-22 .The Minister discussed financial sustainability in the power sector, including issues of fiscal responsibility and paying GENCOs.
The Minister stressed on the need to conduct survey on availability of power in rural and urban areas. Results of such survey shall be reviewed after implementation of RDSS with a view to ensure 24×7 power supply throughout the country.
