Union Coal Minister Addresses Coal Indians on 51st Foundation Day

Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal & Mines, congratulated the Coal India family on its 51st Foundation Day, praising the organization as India’s ‘Energy Lifeline’ and referring to coal workers as “Coal Warriors.” In his virtual address, he emphasized Coal India’s remarkable transformation over the past five decades from manual to automation-driven operations, highlighting its role as an ‘Energy Innovator’ and urging the company to continue playing a pivotal role in ensuring the nation’s energy security.

The Minister also stressed the importance of innovation and technological advancement in the coming decade amid ongoing energy transition challenges. He underscored the need for diversification, reducing dependence on coal, supplying high-quality coal, and expanding CSR initiatives to promote inclusive growth. The event was attended by senior officials, including the Additional Secretary (Coal), Directors, and the Chief Vigilance Officer, to celebrate the milestone and discuss future growth strategies.
