Nine executives of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) were presented with the Trailblazer award by Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge in a function organized at Indo-German Club on 9th April, 2025.
Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Abhay Kumar Behuria, ED (F&A), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. MP Singh, ED (Mines), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) and other Senior Officers of the plant and spouses of the awardees were present on the occasion.
The award winners are Mr. Shivam Singh, Senior Manager (SP-III), Mr. Naresh Kumar Parida, AGM (RMHP), Mr. Aditya Shankar Routray, Senior Manager (Blast Furnaces) currently posted at ED Works Secretariat, Mr. Purab Das, Senior Manager (Refractories), Mr. Ravindra Kumar Singh, Senior Manager, (SMS-II), Mr. Sumanta Kumar Mahapatra, Manager, (Instrumentation & Automation), Mr. Bishwa Jana Ranjan Swain, Senior Manager (PD), Mr. Preetam Kumar Nayak, Senior Manager, (Projects), and Mr. Chandan Kumar Agarwal, AGM (BOM). Notably, this motivational award scheme recognises the contributions made by the frontline executives upto the scale of E-6 in bringing about improvement in production, productivity, Techno-Economic Parameters, safety, quality, maintenance practices, cost reduction/digitalisation, systems improvement etc.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Verma inspired the trailblazers to keep thinking innovatively, and act differently in order to be a great leader. Additionally, he highlighted the significant of taking small steps towards every goal. The DIC also appreciated the support of the spouses of the award winners. The award winners in turn gave a brief description of the innovative jobs carried out by them.
Ms. Itishree Sahoo, Deputy Manager (HR-TA & GA) proposed a Vote of Thanks at the end of the programme, while Ms. Simpi Patel, Deputy Manager (HR-OD) anchored the event. The overall event was coordinated under the guidance of Mr. S Badpanda, GM (HR-OD, TA & GA).
