On the eve of Independence Day, social activist Rakesh Dultabad hoisted the tallest flag at the Dhanwapur Community Center located in Ward number 12. The ceremony was held at 10:20 Am in the morning. Ward Councelor Mr Naveen Dahiya welcomed Mr Daultabad with garlands before escorting him towards the stage. The 112 ft tricolor is the tallest flag in rural Gurugram.
After hoisting the flag Mr Daultabad addressed the residents of the ward, he said, “I wish to escalate the name and fame of Bashahpur constituency like the soaring heights of this flag and work towards generating employment opportunity for every youth from the locality. I want that every household in the area attains happiness.” Rakesh has been working for the upliftment of the Badshahpur constituency since 15 years.
Talking to the youngsters present at the event Rakesh raised concern about the deteriorating environmental conditions. “If we do not take a step today, the future generation would be deprived of clean air to breathe and would be at loss of potable water. Today kids, elders and women from the region are engulfed by many health issues, if we are unable to take care of ourselves how are we going to work for the betterment of our society? That is why it is pertinent free the nation from the shackles of pollution. Saving the environment is of utmost importance and it is no less than patriotism.”
Rakesh exhorted the youth to exercise their suffrage judiciously and to reduce the misconceptions surrounding it. He asked them to spread awareness about the need to vote and the positive change that a free and fair elections can bring.
Around 500 residents from the vicinity attended the function and sang the national anthem in unison with the group of students who took the lead. Ward Counselor Navin Dahiya thanked the congregation for attending the event.
