Shri P. M. Prasad has assumed charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited.
Shri Prasad has more than 38 years of expertise in mine planning, production and management, for both underground and opencast coal mines. He also has a degree in Law from Nagpur University. Prior to this, Shri Prasad was the CMD of CIL subsidiaries Central Coalfields Limited and Bharat Coking Coal Limited. He started his career as a management trainee at Western Coalfields Limited in 1984. Shri Prasad has also worked with NTPC as an Executive Director (Coal Mining).
