SECL Commits ₹11.87 Crore under CSR to Strengthen Healthcare and Community Welfare in Chhattisgarh

SECL CSR healthcare projects in Chhattisgarh

BILASPUR. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, committing ₹11.87 crore for initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving early childhood development facilities, and ensuring access to safe drinking water in project-affected areas of Chhattisgarh. The MoUs were signed at SECL Headquarters under the guidance of Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), and were executed on behalf of SECL by Shri C. M. Verma, General Manager (CSR), in the presence of senior officials and representatives of partner organisations.

As part of its healthcare-focused CSR interventions, SECL has approved projects to enhance infection control and patient safety in major government hospitals through the installation of advanced semiconductor-based air sterilisation technology. An amount of ₹2.81 crore has been sanctioned for installing 62 air steriliser units at Late Bisahu Das Mahant Memorial Government Medical College and Hospital, Korba, covering operation theatres, ICUs, labour rooms, TB wards and burn wards. Additionally, SECL will provide ₹3.49 crore for installing 77 air steriliser units at Kumar Sahab Swargiya Shri Dilip Singh Judeo Government Super Specialty Hospital, Bilaspur, benefiting operation theatres, ICUs, dialysis units and other critical treatment areas.
