DG , SCOPE  presented  Bipartite Roadmap on Responsible Business Conduct  to ILO Director-General

SCOPE Responsible Business Conduct Roadmap ILO

NEW DELHI. Shri Atul Sobti , DG , SCOPE  represented  Indian employers at a landmark gathering in New Delhi where employers’ and workers’ organizations jointly presented a Bipartite Roadmap for advancing Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and Decent Work to Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization. The presence of the ILO Director-General underscored the global importance of responsible business conduct, and the consensus reached between employers and workers marked a significant step forward in strengthening decent work in India.

As highlighted during the dialogue, the roadmap translates shared priorities into practical cooperation and is structured around five key pillars—General Policies, Employment, Training, Conditions of Work and Life, and Industrial Relations—with clearly identified joint actions under each to ensure meaningful implementation. As a member of the ILO Governing Body and an employer representative, I believe the uniqueness of this initiative lies in the trust and collaboration built between social partners, aligning national frameworks with international labour standards while reinforcing the foundations of sustainable and inclusive industrial growth. At SCOPE, we remain committed to advancing these principles through capacity-building and policy advocacy, working to make responsible business conduct a norm across enterprises nationwide, and I extend my sincere appreciation to the ILO for enabling this historic step toward a more just, resilient, and productive industrial future.
