SAIL RSP organizes an array of activities during Swachhata Pakhwada 2025

Rourkela Steel Plant has been organizing a number of cleanliness and awareness campaigns to mark the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2025. Various cleaning activities were held in different departments of the plant where employees took the Swachhata Pledge and carried out cleanliness drives.

On 25th March, Mr. Sumeet Kumar, CGM (BF) led the Swachhata campaign near the BF-1 admin building and administered pledge to the employees. Mr. Deepak Roy, CGM (Power) led a campaign near CPP-1 Turbine entrance on 26th March and cleaned the area along with employees of the department. Similar drives were organised at Coke Oven Battery #6 on 27th March led by Mr. Jiten Mohanty, GM (Coke Ovens), Pipe Plant and CES Department on 28th March led by Md. Moin Uddin Laskar, GM In-Charge (Pipe Plant) and Mr Pavan Gupta, GM In-Charge (CES) respectively. The events were coordinated by the UPEs of the respective departments.

The Public Health Unit of Town Engineering Department has been actively involved in creating widespread awareness on health, hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in the township. Street plays were organised at Munda Market, Sector – 19, China Town Market, Sector – 4 on 28th March and near Samaleswari Basti, Sec-18, Subarnapalli Basti – Sec-16 on 29th March. Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (TE & Horticulture), Dr. Deepa Lavangare, Deputy CMO (TE- Public Health), and a large number of spectators were present on the occasion. The plays highlighted the importance of Swachhata, hygiene, sanitation and ill effects of single use plastic from health and environment point of view. It also promoted alternate uses of single use plastic and encouraged all to use the same.

The events were coordinated by Mr. Rasananda Pradhan, Asst. Manager (PH).
